Bobcats Continue to Load Up on Local Talent; Sign Jaxan Kaluski

The Lloydminster Bobcats are pleased to announce the signing of hometown hockey player Jaxan Kaluski.

Kaluski is the fourth player joining the Junior ‘A’ club from last season’s Midget AAA Bobcats, who finished their season at the Telus Cup – Canada’s national championship for midget hockey. While there, Kaluski scored an impressive six goals and added a helper for seven points in seven games.

“Jaxan proved as the year went on that he could score some big goals, especially at a high level. His experience playing at the Telus Cup, and being able to score there, means he will have the confidence and skill set to continue to produce offensively at the Junior ‘A’ level,” says Head Coach and GM Travis Clayton.

At 5’11’’, 185 pounds, Kaluski has a natural goal scoring touch and can be dangerous from anywhere inside the opposition's end. This past season, Kaluski scored 14 goals for the Midget Bobcats in 34 games.

In the past Kaluski has suited up for the Bobcats as an affiliated player, seeing action in four AJHL games.

According to Clayton, who has coached Kaluski twice in the past, “he is a great two-way player who is responsible in the defensive end. He is a quiet leader who does everything the right way, and leads by example.”

Kaluski was born in Lloydminster and has played for various minor hockey teams within the city.
