Bobcats Sign Miller

Lloydminster, AB – The Lloydminster Bobcats are putting their future, the 2019-20 season team, to paper as new Head Coach / General Manager Nigel Dube and the excellent recruiting staff look to strategically place puzzle pieces together. Jared Miller of Crossfield, Alberta has signed a Letter Of Intent making his future presence a vital piece of that puzzle. Miller, a forward with the Edge Hockey Academy of Calgary will bring an offensive dynamic to the team as he boasts 6 goals and 8 assists in 24 games this season. He has also suited up for the Bobcats as an affiliate player in two games recording his first Alberta Junior Hockey League goal on December 16th in Okotoks.
The 2002 born product is a player the scouting staff knows very well, “We are excited that Jared has decided to sign his letter with us. He is a great young man that exemplifies the qualities we are looking for in our players from an organizational perspective. He plays a fast paced game and is committed to the details of the game we highly value as an organization. Jared is a big piece of our team moving forward and we eagerly anticipate his development on and off the ice,” explains Director of Player Personnel Andrew Gilbert.
Miller has grown up in the southern Alberta area and has a strong hockey resume through his minor hockey career. Last season with the Edge Elite 15s he put up 27 points and placed on the Academic Honor Roll demonstrating his ability to balance activities as a student athlete. “Through coach references and background checks, it was evident Miller has all the core values we are looking for in our players on and off the ice. We are excited as an organization to be getting a tremendous hockey player and an even better person!” stated Dube.
The entire organization would like to welcome the Miller family to the Bobcats! With the first Letter of Intent signing now official, it is expected the Bobcats will be making more announcements as a very structured plan has been put in place by the new management. The Bobcats will sit idle this weekend and then head to Bonnyville for a contest against the Pontiacs on Wednesday Jan 30 before returning home for a set of games next Friday and Saturday at the Civic Center. Puck drop on Feb 1 and Feb 2 is 7:30pm; do not miss the action!
